Leap Year... an extra day!

Today is the 29th February, yay - we get an extra day this year as you know, so that means that there is a possibility and a good chance to catch up on some work!!! Hahahahahaaaaaaaa!!!!

If only it were that simple, then perhaps I could catch up, but that is not going to happen while I'm posting here, tweeting, facebooking, unitedcat-ing, myspace-ing, and all those other 'ings' that seem to take up a lot of time on the good old internet....

Perhaps today should be the day where I ban all online activities for the day and do something else entirely.  So in 2016 - makes mental note - I am going to ban all online activity for myself.

If any of you could remind me nearer the date, that would be awesome, as by this time tommorow I will have probably forgotten all about it! LOL

Until next time, enjoy your extra day!

Vampire Academy - Richelle Mead

Vampire Academy - Richelle Mead

Description from: Amazon.co.uk

Review From Amazon:

This story is no ordinary vampire tale. Mead has done her homework on Romanian folklore and Orthodox Catholic saints, and she uses it to weave a unique and mesmerizing mystery with a whodunit ending that even the most skilled detectives will not predict. With social angst that every teenager can appreciate and sexual tension that leaves Stephanie Meyer's Twilight looking like a children's book, this little gem is sure to be a hit.--VOYA

Mead's absorbing, debut YA novel, the first in a new series, blends intricately detailed fantasy with a contemporary setting, teen-relevant issues, and a diverse... cast of supporting characters.  A scattering of vulgar language demand mature readers, but teens able to handle the edgy elements will speed through this vamp story and anticipate the next installment. -- Booklist --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

Product Description

St Vladimir's Academy isn't just any boarding school - hidden away, it's a place where vampires are educated in the ways of magic and half-human teens train to protect them.

Rose Hathaway is a Dhampir, a bodyguard for her best friend Lissa, a Moroi Vampire Princess. They've been on the run, but now they're being dragged back to St Vladimir's where the girls must survive a world of forbidden romances, a ruthless social scene and terrifying night time rituals. But most of all, staying alive.

This is the novel I chose to read when the snow came a couple of weeks ago, and I have to say that I really enjoyed it.  Great plot, great pace, great writing.

This book is the first in the series and now I want to read more... the characters are well drawn and I found the humour sassy, with laugh out loud moments.  The world the author creates is realistic, but also unique and believable for the genre.  There is danger and suspense, coupled with action and more action and some slick plot twists.

I don't want to give too much away, but if you fancy a 'bite' of a vampire novel, read this!

My rating is 4.5 out of 5

Until next time...

Tamara's Time Machine

Tamara's Time Machine

Well, I have been going through the manuscript over the last few days, getting Tamara's Time Machine ready for Kindle-ization... Hopefully the book cover will be finished very soon and I can't wait to see it. I actually wrote this novel about ten years ago (jeez, who knew that time does pass that quickly ~ EEEEK!)  and I thought it was about time it came out for an airing!  What good is it sitting in a drawer?  'None!' I hear you say, and that was my thought exactly.

So here's a little taster about my new offering:

SO YOU THOUGHT THE WORLD HAD ALL THE HERO'S IT NEEDED?

WRONG

THE WORLD NEEDS A NEW KIND HERO AND SHE IS:

TAMARA LIONHEART

Tamara is a teenage time traveller and she has to save the world from an impending Inter-Dimensional Time disaster

A CATACLYSMIC TIME CATASTROPHE

Only Tamara has the intelligence, power and uber technology to save the world as we know it, from the vile and merciless Seymour Froggitt, masquerading as a dealer in fine arts and antiquities. He is determined to become the first Inter-dimensional time traveller, after he inadvertently stumbles upon the ancient and mysterious Book of the Gods and unearths the secret of crossing through realities into alternate dimensions.

His absolute greed fuels his desires for total power, but is he aware of the ultimate price and does he even care if all the alternate dimensions and realities begin to bleed into one another?  The result being hell on earth.

Tamara travels through time to try and stop the evil Seymour Froggitt and his partner in crime Fluke Spawn, obtaining the four gifts from the Gods that are hidden across time and history to save the earth from such a disaster. Seymour needs all four artefacts to enable him to achieve his supreme goal, but can Tamara stop him?

Her travels take her to the very dawn of time, Ancient Egypt, the Temple of Ta Prohm in Cambodia, the Patagonian Ice Fields, the Druids at Stonehenge and to the Mystical Ayers Rock, in her perilous quest to save the world.

If you would like to find out if Tamara Lionheart succeeds in her perilous quest, I'll let you know when her wild and thrilling adventure in

TAMARA'S TIME MACHINE

is available to buy on Amazon ~ Kindle

Until next time...

It's Snowing.... Blah!

It's snowing... and I hear you say 'It's snowing in a lot places right now! So what's the problem? And it's a lot worse in Europe than it is here!'

I know it's pretty and all that but, and here comes the not fun part.... it's nice for about 24 hours then it's a real pain in the behind!   It wouldn't be as bad if the roads where we live were gritted.... just once would be nice - pretty please Mr Grit Lorry Driver.... and then you have the people in the 4X4's (Not all 4X4ers, I hasten to add) but over the last few days I have seen quite a few driving as if it's a HOT DRY SUNNY DAY on treacherous roads!  Go figure ?????

Anyway, I think I've moaned enough now! LOL

So I'll go and read a book and let you know in a couple days which one it is... as I still have a selection left from last year:

Divergent by Veronica Roth

Vampire Academy Book 1 by Richelle Mead

These are just two that I have sitting patiently in my 'waiting to be read pile,' so maybe the snow will give me time to wade through some, because if the white stuff continues I'm staying indoors, next to the fire bundled up in a soft fluffy rug on the sofa.

So until next time, wrap up well, stay warm and drive safely if you are venturing out.
